COVID-19 may have stopped many businesses from providing their services and caused issues for others, but here at Wilkinsons Landscapes our plant centre has remained open, meaning your love for gardening and plants doesn’t need to come to a halt. We have taken all precautions to protect you and others when visiting our plant centre.

Our Plant Centre is the heart of Wilkinsons Landscapes and has several inspirational display gardens to view, walk around and enjoy so we have done everything we can to keep it COVID secure. We have the largest plant selection in the northeast of England, so we wouldn’t want you to miss out!

Staying COVID Secure

It’s no secret that recent times have been difficult for everyone, but here at Wilkinsons Landscapes we have been doing our absolute best to remain positive and stay open, safely. We understand how much some of you care about your garden and plants, especially during recent times, when they have become one of our only escapes.

Wash Your Hands

Handwashing facilities are available for use and we encourage you to do so, spreading the virus through touch is a major concern as it can survive on surfaces for 2-3 days. We ask that you use the handwashing facilities available to minimise the risk of spreading.

Entry and Exit

We make use of a separate entrance and exit for our plant centre. The main way the virus can be transmitted is through the air so to prevent people being in contact and to promote social distancing we have made clear entrances and exits.

Face Coverings

Wearing a mask is also required within buildings as per the government guidelines, as a result, we ask all of our customers to wear masks unless they are exempt, not only for your safety but also for others around you. Our staff all take appropriate measures so we ask all of our customers to do so as well.

Protective Screens

To provide an additional layer of protection, we have protective screens at all of our tills. We only do this to provide a safe environment and to prevent any spread of the virus through the air, while we do take the utmost care, a protective screen just adds an additional layer.

It is also important to know that 95% of our plant centre is outside, ventilation is obviously significantly better outdoors, meaning it is much safer as the risk of the virus is much lower. So for the majority of our plant centre, the risk of transmission is much lower than if you were indoors, we still ask you to take precautions and follow social distancing guidelines.

While at the moment we do not have a one-way system in play due to the quiet nature of our plant centre, when it is required we do introduce a one-way system throughout. This is again to allow for social distancing, keeping distance between people is vital to protect our customers and ourselves.

If you don’t want to visit our plant centre in person, we also have an online garden centre where you can find all of the plants, shrubs and accessories for your garden you need. We’re always improving our store and working hard to provide you with the best service possible, even through these such tough times.
