We transformed a split level terrace using recycled Yorkstone paving, into a place the whole family can enjoy.
As the large rear garden was being redeveloped, there were large amounts of Yorkstone paving which we could salvage. This made an excellent paving material and the smaller sections of stone were dressed to form the walling stone for the reataining walls and step risers. No new stone was used in the creation of the paving.
Creating outstanding views
As the garden sloped away from the house, it was decided the best option was to split level the terrace, providing a pleasing seating area in the lower part. This meant it would catch the evening sun and allow our client to make the most out of the outstanding views.
Out with the old
The existing terrace needed to be replaced as it was badly proportioned and did not serve the client's needs. The brief was to construct a terrace which was sympathetic to the house, providing a seating area in a sunny section of the garden.
