Garden Revisited

This garden is a rewarding example of landscaping built to last.

Originally constructed by Wilkinsons Landscapes over 27 years ago, the garden features natural stone retaining walls, paved terrace areas and carefully considered changes in level — all designed to integrate seamlessly with the surrounding lawn and mature planting.

Recently, the homeowners invited us back to carry out a series of sympathetic alterations, updating how the space functions today while preserving the integrity of the original construction. The works focused on refining transitions between patio and lawn, refreshing planting pockets, and enhancing drainage and usability — without unnecessary removal or disruption of the existing stonework.

Rather than a full replacement, this project demonstrates the value of quality materials, skilled craftsmanship and timeless garden design. With thoughtful updates, the structure continues to perform beautifully decades later.
