Contemporary Garden Landscaping with Raised Pond

This landscaping project combines contemporary hard landscaping with the character of an established garden, creating a more practical and inviting outdoor space while retaining the mature surroundings that make the garden unique.
A key feature of the finished design is the long raised pond, which runs through the garden and creates a striking focal point from several viewpoints. Natural stone walling was used around the pond to complement the existing property, with light-coloured coping stones providing a clean, contemporary finish and defining the water’s edge.
New paved seating and entertaining areas were created alongside the pond and around the property, connected by pathways that improve access and give the garden a much clearer sense of structure. The neutral paving works particularly well against both the natural stone and the dark architectural finishes of the adjoining building.
Rather than trying to make an established garden feel completely new, the landscaping has been designed to sit comfortably amongst the existing mature trees and planting. Once the surrounding beds establish, the softer planting will contrast beautifully with the strong lines of the paving, walling and water.
The finished garden brings together natural stone, contemporary paving and water to create a peaceful outdoor space with plenty of character – and a fantastic outlook from the house.
Project features: raised garden pond, natural stone walling, stone coping, new paving, patio and seating areas, pathways and preparation of surrounding planting beds.
