Traditional Driveway

Acklam, Middlesbrough

Concept to completion: 4 weeks

Planning

Wilkinsons have carried out several projects in this small residential road in Middlesbrough. The rear garden landscaping was completed approximately 12 months earlier. We have also carried out work on an ongoing basis at a neighbouring property for the same owners for over 30 years, starting with a rear side fence that is still very serviceable after that 30 year period. The main aim of the work was to provide the client with a two car driveway.

Progress

As well as the block paved drive, the customer wished for a soft landscaped area. They chose artificial turf to cover the area to the side of the car parking. It was necessary to replace the front wall and pillars and provide a more attractive step that would make access to the house easier. The drive surface was comprised of antique setts in four sizes. The wall was constructed from facing bricks; the colour of the bricks was chosen to blend with the existing front walls of neighbouring houses.

Completion

The front garden was completed with planting through marine pebbles which provided an attractive and neat finish to the outdoor space.
