Two Colour Porcelain Paved Patio

Bishop Auckland

Concept to completion: 4 Weeks

Planning

The original garden was constructed some years previously by another contractor and it contained a very complicated water feature that, due to leaves from neighbouring trees, meant it needed to be covered for long periods of time. The client also requested a bigger patio and lawn area, which was achieved by reducing the size of the water feature to allow for better use of the available space.

Progress

Original materials were saved at the excavation stage to allow us to seamlessly rebuild sections of the existing garden where it met with the new work. Unfortunately, the on site lights weren’t possible to salvage due to being embedded in concrete, so new lights were installed in the paving to work in harmony with the existing garden lighting. Two colours of porcelain were used in contrasting colours to add originality and character to the design; Bronzo (mix of brown and bronze tones); and Biscotto (golden tones with a natural stone look). The paving was laid at 45 degrees to be square with existing paths/paving and to create impact.

Completion

The existing, aged lawn was tired and replaced with new luscious green turf. The customer completed the look with some garden furniture from our sister garden centre. The furniture had bronze and brown tones to complement the Bronzo porcelain paving.
